University students create club in their basement after missing nights out

We’re into what feels like month 7859 of lockdown – and we don’t know about you, but we’re seriously missing pubs and clubs right now.

And one group who have really missed out on nightlife culture are university students.

Posting on TikTok, one member of the uni house, in Sheffield, revealed how they transformed their basement into a nightclub.

She wrote: “Made our uni basement into a club since we can’t go to them at the momment.”

The video of the transformation has been viewed more than 200,000 times, and racked up nearly 30,000 likes.

The room has been decked out with fairy lights on the walls and ceiling.

The walls are covered in glitter and a cute set of photos, along with a purple neon cloud light.

There’s even a colourful wall hanging – which fans on TikTok gushed over.

The impressive set up has gone viral – with lots of people jealous of the exclusive venue.

One fan commented: “Wow honestly this house is sick! Need housemates like this.”

Another joked: “And the drinks are cheap A*. Who’s the real winner? YOU SIS.”

A third offered: “If you need a DJ I’m there.”

Meanwhile, one mum was showered with praise after she created another bedroom in her home – for £140.

Mum Amy Harty, 35, created the extra room in her Essex house in a bid to give her daughter a private space.

She lives with her four children, aged between 5 and 11, in a three-bedroom property in Essex.

The DIY fan completed the project herself – with guidance from her grandad and the internet.

And she has shared her sums for the impressive project – so if you’re feeling inspired.
